Clear luminous skin that looks and feels younger.
The SkinPen medical skin treatment is a transformative micro-needling technique that works by stimulating collagen and blood flow the the skin. The micro injury to the skin triggers the body’s natural healing response to deposit collagen which softens acne scars and tightens the skin. It is FDA approved for both anti aging of skin and reducing scarring of any kind. It is powerful enough to be compared to laser treatments but safe enough to use in delicate areas like under the eye and lips. A micro-needling treatment results in clear luminous skin that looks and feels younger.

Who’s a candidate for SkinPen?
Most people are candidates for SkinPen. SkinPen doesn’t cause changes in pigmentation that may be seen with other energy devices, so it can be used on all skin types and tones, including darker skin that’s more susceptible to hyperpigmentation.
SkinPen’s variable needle depth allows for ultimate versatility. Contact your SkinPen provider to discuss your specific needs.
How long does it take and will it hurt?
The SkinPen procedure typically takes 30 minutes to an hour. Based on your needs, your SkinPen provider may apply a topical anesthetic to the skin prior to micro-needling. The topical numbing agent makes the SkinPen procedure comfortable and relatively pain-free. Most people report feeling just the slight vibration of SkinPen during the procedure. Ask your doctor what they do to ensure patient comfort during micro-needling. In one study of micro-needling used to treat acne scars, the patients’ average pain rating was only 1.08 out of 10. For most people, that’s probably less painful than having your eyebrows waxed.
How many procedures are recommended?
The number of SkinPen procedures required will be determined by your skin care professional based upon your individual goals and the health of your skin. Your clinician will recommend a course of procedures (typically three to six) appropriate for your skin’s needs and request you return within four to six weeks for your next procedure to ensure optimal results. While multiple sessions are recommended to achieve optimal micro-needling results, you may see noticeable improvements just one week following the procedure. Your skin will gradually improve as your body’s healing process promotes collagen remodeling.
Most patients receive a series of three SkinPen procedures spaced about four weeks apart. Your provider will develop a procedure plan specific to you.
What are the side effects and downtime*?
The total healing time depends on each individual. Most patients have some slight swelling and redness/pinkness (like a mild to moderate sunburn) for two to four days following the micro-needling procedure. Some people may heal completely in 24 hours.
Your clinician may apply Skinfuse RESCUE Calming Complex immediately post-procedure to soothe your skin and reduce inflammation. RESCUE was formulated by Bellus Medical as part of the Skinfuse post-procedure protocol specifically to calm the skin following the SkinPen micro-needling procedure. Most people can return to their normal activities and conceal any side effects with makeup just one day after their SkinPen procedure.
*Individual results will vary.
Do I need to use a certain product line after the SkinPen procedure?
While the micro-channels are open in the 24 hours following your micro-needling procedure, it’s particularly important not to use skincare products that contain ingredients that will irritate your skin or hinder the skin rejuvenation process. You don’t want irritating ingredients to prolong inflammation of your skin following the SkinPen procedure.
For best results post-micro-needling, consult your skincare professional regarding the best products to use after micro-needling.

What happens when applying RF to the skin?
By applying RF energy to the human body/skin which can conduct current and therefore act as part of the electrical circuit, any resistance encountered by the energy flow will cause heat to be produced at the site of maximum resistance, which can also be used to cut or coagulate tissue.
RF energy when used for skin tightening is able to penetrate deep into the skin and affect the deeper dermis and subcutaneous layers, causing tightening and improvements to the underlying tissue structure, with change in skin texture or fine lines and wrinkling.
What can RF treat?
Pure RF energy alone is primarily used to treat skin laxity by facial tightening, and is best suited to patients with mild to moderate sagging of facial tissues, usually those in their mid thirties to fifties, with any skin color.
It is used to treat:
- the forehead:lift brows and tightensforehead skin.
- under the eyes: thickens skin and tightens and lifts the upper cheek skin.
- cheeks:lifts slightly and diminishes enlarged pores, mid-face, jaw line diminishes jowling and sagging along the jaw line.
- neck:tightens skin and diminishes wrinkling of the neck.
if there is a significant amount of redundant or sagging skin, often seen in older patients over 65 this procedure may show improvement but not a significant enough improvement.
RF can be also used to enhance a variety of treatments including:
- pigmented and vascular
- disorder, acne, acne scars
- and cellulite reduction procedures.
How many treatments will I need?
RF to the face and neck depends in the amount of treatment necessary to until patient will see results.
RF treatment require 6-8 sessions on the neck 4-6 on face and results performance will accrue around the third or fourth treatment.
Microneedling combined with Bi Polar RF will perform better for patients with textural issues as well as laxity.
Usually 3 to 4 treatments are most effective by the combination.
In the the invasive treatments patients will notice results as early as 6 weeks after procedure, And on going continued improvement For up to one year and more .
